2024 Rich List shows that UK PM Rishi Sunak and wife Akshata Murty
Thanks in large part to his profitable Infosys ownership, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his spouse Akshata Murty have risen through the ranks of the Sunday Times Rich List every year. With an estimated net worth of GBP 651 million, the pair rose from 275th to 245th place last year, becoming the wealthiest residents of 10 Downing Street to date.
Murty's substantial income, mostly from Infosys dividends, has fueled their ascent; on the wealth index, they are now worth more than even King Charles III.
Murty's father, Narayan Murthy, co-founded Infosys, in which she holds a sizable stake. These shares have increased in value by GBP 108.8 million in the last year, bringing their total value close to GBP 590 million.
During the same time frame, Murty paid out almost GBP 13 million in dividends, and this year, another GBP 10.5 million is anticipated.
At the top of the list, however, continues to be the Indian-born Hinduja family, whose wealth surpasses GBP 37.196 billion. Their most recent endeavor, the OWO Hotel in London, has improved their financial situation even more.
David and Simon Reuben, two more brothers who were born in India, are now ranked third on the list with a combined fortune of almost GBP 24.977 billion.
The 2024 Rich List includes Mohsin and Zuber Issa, Lakshmi N. Mittal, Anil Agarwal, Prakash Lohia, Navin and Varsha Engineer, and other billionaires of Indian descent.
